Wonderful session this week. The Royal Vancouver Yacht Cub will be installing a new Commodore next week. It will be the first time in the clubs long and venerable history that a women rises to the top position in the club. I wanted an image that defined the club, had depth and character of the position yet portrayed a classy women. We made many images in and around the club and this is one of my favorites.

Congratulations to Sarah Howard and best wishes for a succesfull term as RVYC's 2010 Commodore.

The Pianist: Last week I had the pleasure of photographing Jocelyn.... a gifted pianist with an upcoming recital. The vision we created was to portray both Jocelyn and her passion for piano yet create visual interest through composition and light. Our journey took us from her home where much her practice life occurs to the recital hall. These images are to be used for her posters and invitations and since we had such a wonderful resource that captured all her moods from playful to professional, we will be planning an album that tells the story of such a talented young artist.

Wedding

Jan 31... had the real pleasure of photographing Linda an Doug's wedding. I photographed Linda's parents wedding (w while ago). Canmore Alberta (near Banff)... amazing setting, wonderful people and one comment that made the journey worth while. Linda shared that when her Grandfather passed away... he left instructions that when she got married... I was to photograph her wedding. What a wonderful responsibility and one that Rockie Lee (my right hand) and I embraced with total enthusiasm. The day started with dog sledding with the guys and spa with the gals. Then on to a portrait adventure that was breathtaking. The three sisters mountain was an awesome background. Then an outdoor ceremony  by candles and campfire on the grounds of a lovely B&B.
Truly a day to remember.

The portrait class that (with Rockie Lee) I do sold out... that is exciting... that makes sold out classes every year since I started save the first year when i was the unknown "newbie".
It is so exciting to have people wanted to tap your experience and use that knowledge to build their own careers.
